Sara Amrhein
Sara Amrhein is widely recognized as an innovative and accomplished polymer clay jewelry artist. Her work was recently featured in the latest edition of Polymer Week Magazine, a leading publication highlighting professional works in the medium. One of her necklace designs was also selected to be featured in the first edition of the printed art book Polymer Journeys. In October of 2023, she was a guest speaker at the Polymer Week symposium and workshop retreat in the Czech Republic. In 2021, she was a finalist in the Polymer Clay segment of Discovery+ Channel’s “Meet Your Maker Showdown” series.
Sara was born in New York and raised in Southern California, where she attended Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. The city of Florence, Italy, and its treasure trove of art captured this artist’s heart during a study abroad program. After graduation, she moved to Florence to pursue her career as a jewelry designer. She still lives in Florence with her husband, Luigi, and their two cats, Michelangelo and Rosalina. She has recently renovated and opened a new studio and storefront in the city center, where she creates and sells her work.
Sara’s underlying strengths are color, texture, and pattern, and they can be seen in her jewelry and workspace. Her work merges sculpture, painting, and collage to create a unique perspective in jewelry design.
