Jennifer Field

I am a mixed media artist living in coastal southwestern Maine. My work incorporates felted wool fleece, lampworked glass and enameled copper and silver into small sculptures and colorful, whimsical jewelry. Each of these mediums, while beautiful on their own, are even more powerful when combined. I find the unexpected juxtaposition of soft and hard surfaces incredibly pleasing. My subject matter is inspired by nature: Birds, fish and flowers are among my favorite forms. My “Past lives” as a toy and fabric designer and an illustrator and my passion for gardens and architecture have greatly influenced my colorful and whimsical style. When I am not creating I love playing bossa novas and 60?s pop music on my ukulele.
